Moving/Traffic Violations

A moving violation is an infringement of the law committed by the driver of a motor vehicle while it is in motion. Most moving violations are classified as either infractions or misdemeanors; in serious cases, they can be considered felonies. It is thought that moving violations are more likely to cause physical harm to a person and/or property than any other form of driving infraction.

Moving violations generally warrant monetary fines and punitive points to be assessed to a driver’s license. As a driver accumulates points, he or she may be required to attend defensive driving lessons, re-take his or her driving test, pay additional taxes, or even surrender his or her license.

Serious violations include (but are not limited to) speeding, aggressive driving, and driving under the influence. The rate of reoccurrence with such violations is high. In some jurisdictions, the court can legally impose the installation of external devices such as Interlock Ignition Devices (IID) to monitor a driver’s behavior when in control of their automobile.

DriveSync’s advanced GPS and cellular technologies can help monitor driver behavior and possibly reduce the rate of reoccurrence by providing government and authorities with driving data such as speed, location, duration, and aggressiveness.
